Check your offer, equipment and SIM card before your departure
Before travelling to the US, and to be able to make calls, send SMSs or surf on the Internet from the US, check that your offer, equipment and SIM card are compatibles.

You have to check that :
– you subscribed to one of the latest generation plans (see How to know if my plan is compatible?)
– you are well equipped with a 4G/VoLTE compatible smartphone (see How do I know if my mobile is 4G/VoLTE compatible in the US?)
– you changed your SIM card within the last two years
– you activated the 4G/VoLTE feature on your smartphone (see How do I activate and desactivate 4G/VoLTE voice)

Since January 1st 2023, the American operators have stopped their 2G and 3G mobile networks on the whole American territory (USA / Alaska / Hawaii). This decision affects all foreign visitors going to the United States regardless of their operator. Only 4G networks remain open, including for calls. You will have to switch to 4G/VoLTE mobile networks to stay connected and make calls. To do so, your offer, your equipment and your SIM card must be 4G/VoLTE compatible.

Yes, the 3G shutdown affects all US states and territories.
You must have changed your SIM card within the last two years and you must be subscribed to a Live (individuals) or Business (pros and companies) plan
– Live or Business Essential
– Live or Business Connected 4G et 5G
– Live or Business Traveller 4G et 5G
– Live or Business In Motion

To check the name of your plan:
– Go to your myMT customer area > mobile section
– Or consult one of your invoices
– Or contact your Customer Service at 99 66 33 00

If you do not have one of these packages, you can change your offer online at 99 66 33 00 or in our store.

For iPhone:
– You can activate or deactivate this service from your iPhone settings at any time
– Go to Settings > Options > Voice and data > Activate or deactivate VoLTE
– And Activate or deactivate VoLTE “Data abroad”

For Androïd:
– VoLTE can’t be deactivated on Androïd mobiles
– If your mobile is VoLTE compatible, you can call all types of numbers. Your interlocutor does not need to have a compatible 4G/VoLTE Voice mobile to be reached.

For Android Samsung mobiles:
– VoLTE is enabled by default on Android phones
– On Samsung series phones, you can disable it by going to the menu: Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > VoLTE SIM Calls
From January 1, 2023, no more 2G/3G service will be available in the USA and you must have a 4G/VoLTE plan and smartphone compatibles.
Yes, you have to update your mobile to the latest software.

If your mobile is 4G/VoLTE incompatible, you may not be able to use emergency call services in the United States.

-You benefit from VoLTE abroad automatically and without additional cost, as long as you have a mobile and plan compatibles, and when you are under 4G coverage.
– VoLTE calls abroad are treated the same as a call made on a foreign network. There’s no specific pricing for 4G calls abroad.
– VoLTE abroad does not consume the internet volume of your plan.
